Best Sydney Vegan Food

Vegan food is becoming the newest food trend, so why not try and embrace it? We put together a list of the best Sydney vegan food options. Here are some of most delicious vegan meals & experiences in Sydney that will definitely leave you satisfied.

Sydney City

SYDNEY CITY, NSW, AUSTRALIA
If you are in the middle of the city, head to Darlinghurst and Proteini Cafe just off Crown Street. As pictured below: Vegan, gluten free, fruit and coconut ice cream pancakes; the quinoa kale & vege Vegan bowl; and finally, spiced apple pancakes. If you want to look at the beautiful Sydney University Campus near Broadway, wander the sprawling green grounds and see Jacaranda trees then stop in at the Courtyard Cafe and have the Cooked tofu, pumpkin and bean sprout salad with a fresh orange ice-tea.

Ritual Coffee Traders

160 SAILORS BAY ROAD, NORTHBRIDGE NSW 2063, AUSTRALIA
Ritual is a small hole-in-the-wall type cafe but boy it does not disappoint. Some of the best coffee on the North Shore, it also serves delicious food that happens to be vegan and incredibly nutritious. Pictured below: Fruity Acai bowl with Rawnola(gluten free granola!); Choc-mint cheesecake; the ‘Nourish Bowl’ with fresh vegetables & hummus; and finally, the brown rice porridge with fresh fruit – warm and filling on a cold day.

Sadhana Kitchen

147 ENMORE RD, ENMORE NSW 2042, AUSTRALIA
Sadhana kitchen was one of the first raw/vegan cafes to open in Sydney and has been incredibly successful for that reason. A dedicated vegan menu, there’s always a line to get a table. The food is divine, and the ambience of the colourful food and tables spreads around the rest of the arty suburb. Pictured below: The breakfast crepe & Dragonfruit bowl; a bowl of CocoWhip (coconut ice cream!) with a vegan wagon wheel and coconut flakes; the epic Green Smoothie and finally, a smorgasbord of raw Pad Thai, Acai bowl with CoYo and raw cake slices!

Dural

DURAL NSW 2158, AUSTRALIA
Dural may be a bit further out (in the hills district!) but there’s still places to visit. Pictured below: Caramelised pineapple with coconut sorbet, fresh fruit and dried granola from Wolfe & Co; a bunch of native flora arranged into an exquisite bouquet that I bought on a side road past Round Corner; and last but not least, Edible Kale Flowers and fresh baby tomatoes from the farmers Market. Any Farmers Markets in Sydney are worth visiting because the produce is fresh, and it’s always lovely to go for a mini shop then have a picnic and snack on the treats you’ve just bought.

North Shore

NORTH SHORE, NSW, AUSTRALIA
Here’s a collection of a few must-visit places on the North Shore! Pictured below: Speciality ‘Anchor’ almond milk coffee from the Boat Shed Balmoral Beach; a warm bowl of Laksa with a bottle of Strawberry Kombucha from Iku in Neutral Bay; Avocado toast with sauerkraut & zaatar from the Farm in Neutral Bay; and my personal favourite dish of these all – a deconstructed Acai bowl (which is textured like ice cream!!) with rawnola and a combination of fresh and dried fruit from Back N Forth in Castlecrag.

21 Fountain St

21 FOUNTAIN ST, ALEXANDRIA NSW 2015, AUSTRALIA
In the heart of Alexandria, a well known and gentrified industrial area; visit this renovated warehouse which houses delicious cafes, a bakery (rosetta stoned!) and coffee (Campos). My choices are Bread & Circus Wholefoods (Fresh produce featured below) and Pana Chocolate for the raw, vegan desserts and chocolate. Tip: get the matcha and raspberry slice, AND/OR the fig and wild orange flavoured chocolate pictured below… or the mint chocolate!!

Earth to Table

85 BRONTE ROAD, BONDI JUNCTION NSW 2022, AUSTRALIA
Last on the list of best Sydney vegan food is Earth to Table. Located right near the beautiful Bondi Beach, this place is well worth a visit. Similarly to Sadhana, the cafe is exclusively raw & vegan, but when ordering off the menu, you’d never feel as though you’re lacking or missing out. These are easily the best desserts in Sydney (and that’s a big call!) Come here for a speciality brewed elixir tea, grab a dessert and take a walk down to Bondi Beach! Pictured below: Raw chocolate & cinnamon donuts with a slice of apple cinnamon cheesecake (photo by @veganwithbambi); Lemon Meringue slice & Mojito Cheesecake slice plus a raw strawberry donut; and to finish – if you do want a main to eat too, try the freshly spiralled zoodles with balsamic vinegar and coconut cheese!
